I'm new to MOC and find this topic very interesting. I have 2006 3500RL and the only slide that doesn't leak, as far as I know, is the bedroom slide. This Winter I pulled up the carpet in the corners of all the slides when we found the carpet wet and found that the carpet and the plywood underneith was wet in the outside corners of all the slides. Last year my dealer attempted to repair this on the two slides approved for repair by Montana but it didn't work. I found that the roof tape on the outside flanges had lifted little ripples that allowed water to run in. I also learned that no sealer had been applied to the flange at the factory before it was taped. We actually had water dripping from the inside of the window on the galley slide when I washed the roof the first time. Removing the original tape on all four slides, sealing the flanges and putting new tape on top helped but hasn't completely stopped the leaks. I even put sealer on the edges and ends of the new tape that I installed. I then pulled the lower moldings on the sides of all the slides and found that water had come in at the outside ends of all the aluminum moldings as well. A very poor attempt at the factory had put a little silicone sealer there but not enough. I found the insulation inside the forward wall of the galley slide was wet when I had the molding off and could put my fingers up inside the skin to check. I don't know how it got wet there. I pulled the upper moldings and checked them but they hadn't had any water in them. Next I tried to see if water was wicking through the black membrane underneith when it runs down the side of the slides. I used duct tape and made hanging diffusers that made the runoff from the roof pass by the bottom of the slide so it couldn't follow the membrane under the slides. Again this helped but didn't stop it all. The biggest problem is still under the fridge and at the opposite outside corner of the same slide. This has me totally baffled. I have checked inside the vents after heavy rains and not found it wet in there but the carpet under the refrigerator still gets wet and cold. A call to Montana about this was unsuccessful. They suggested I treat the plywood floors with a wood preservative.
As with Jim, I can use any helpful suggestions.
