What color is your awning?
We have a 2007 and our awning is maroon, got me thinking as I have seen other colors...just wondering if all 2007 had the same color or if different.

When we got our 2006 Mountaineer we noticed that it had a blue awning. The Mountaineer has no blue detailing so we have been looking into why the awning is blue. The dealer indicated that the 2007 Montana's they have on the lot have blue as well and that the color is sometimes dependent on what the factory has in stock.
We are looking into what options we have.

Ours came with a blue and white stripped A&E awning with white slide toppers. Pretty much your standard awning set up.

Woe is me, ours too is blue, with no blue in the graphics. I never gave it a second thought though, until I read about some other members ( can't remember who ) that got their's replaced by Keystone free of charge. If I remember right, they called the factory and let them know how pleased they were with the Montana, then asked about the color of the awning. When Keystone heard they were not happy with the mismatched colors, they sent a new awning to the dealer, and paid for installation. I haven't tried this yet, but may, as it irritates the heck out of me now that I know it could be better.

If I recall correctly our awning is maroon & white. I can't check it now, 15 degrees and snow.

Thanks everyone...I just thought they would all have the same color at least for each year. I guess it is not like that though. I sure dont know where they get the color blue for the brown/maroon graphics!

Campbud - from my understanding Montana used the blue awning for years. When the graphics changed, it took a while to transition to the maroon awning color. Those with the new graphics and blue awnings were caught in the middle of depleting stock.
A&E has stopped making the 8500 series, and only produce the 8500 Plus now. At some point, you should start seeing the 8500 plus installed on the Montanas. The awning arms are rounded, and one side has a spring loaded shock that allows the arm to drop under the weight of rain.
Given your new model Campbud, do you have the new style awning?

Our 2006 2980 came new to us last August with a blue awning. When in Goshen last fall, we explained to the factory that this color did not coordinate well with the brown graphics. Our rigs are the best advertising that they have because people see our Montanas on the road and in campgrounds and admire them. They agreed and advised us that this was the last of the blue stock that they had been using and so they traded our blue for a tan and brown awning, at no additional cost to us. We now have not a good looking Montana but a great looking Montana and a good feeling about Keystone customer service.

Brad and Dory, Yes we do. I forgot that when we did the PDI and had taken the awning down, the PDI guy was saying it was upgraded a bit more. It sure does open and close up easier that the one on our last unit.

That's good to hear Campbud! Congratulations on your new rig!
Just think, you have a Montana few have ever really seen. We are heading to the RV show in Denver tomorrow, but they do not have any SA models.
