2019 330rl tire replacement
Hello all, I have a very specific question regarding my 2019 HC 330RL. The tires that came with the 5th wheel are ST235/80R 16, load range F. We had a catastrophic failure last Fall and I bought another set of (Chinese Poppers) just to get us home. My intention is to put Cooper H rated tires on, but the closest Cooper makes is 235/85R 16. They’re a little taller than the 80’s. Has anyone else made this change without any problems? Thanks in advance.

Many have installed that size tire whiteout incident. If you use the search you will find several discussions. I believe you're going to raise the height about 1/2" Be sure to measure your actual trailer height after installation.

Also, narrows the gap between front and rear tires about an inch, but I think many people have done this with no problems.

currently there are no H rated tires for a 16 inch rim H rated tires are for 17.5 inch rim.
You can G rated tires in 16 inch rim they will be a better tires than the E rated tires that you are taking off and will be just fine on any fifth wheel camper.
Keystone uses saliun that just because they got them cheap and they are other options out there. Hercules is one they make a good G rated tire for tralier service, most g rated tires now are very good
Make sure your rims are rated for a 110 psi which is the air pressure for g rated tires

You'll also find that G rated tires have a higher max speed rating. You probably had Raniers, max speed rating is 65 mph. We had three of them do a tread separation dance on our October trip, one of them a true RUD. We went with Carlyle G's from Tire Warehouse. Running at 110 (cold), we're actually getting about 2 mpg better now.

Of course there are 235/85R16 H rated tires out there for sale. I currently own a set I purchased 2 1/2 years ago. I just checked Priority Tire’s inventory and found that the same tires I purchased are still available. I have found them to be exceptionally long wearing and have held pressures during storage. I would highly recommend them to others. Transeagle ST 235/85R16 133/128L 16 ply H rated. Current price $161.93 each. shipping was free

I think you'd find that just upgrading to G rated tires would give you plenty of added protection. Many here, including me, have gone to Sailun or Carlisle G tires with very good success. What you're looking for is a bump in weight rating and a big bump in quality. These tires would get that done.

Hello and good day.
As an independent general automotive service shop / tire dealer for the last 29 years and over 40 years in the auto repair trade, I can tell you that Carlisle is my go to trailer tire with Hercules being a very close 2nd. This is a fairly common tire upgrade { 80 series to 85 series }. I've never experienced a problem with fitment or anything else in regards to suspension, handling, ect. I've also done this upgrade to my current fifth wheel and noticed an immediate difference in how it handles and it pulls easier with less roling resistance. Good luck and safe travels.
