Bathroom drain tailpipe
Any idea how to change this out for a new one that came with new faucet?
It looks to be 2 pieces, the knurled ring won't budge, but I can only get an underhand grip on it with channel locks due to space.
Topside is glass bowl with press to open metal disk stopper. It comes off to clean drain, but doesn't appear to affect removal of entire piece.
Have tightened top collar as hand tight as I can against underside of countertop and then tried just rotating tail pipe to unscrew it with no effect either.
Just overly corroded? Don't know what to try next.

Dotco with cutoff wheel. Sawzall. Knocker Loose and let it soak. Be mediumly gentle or something will break, and it won't be your high school sweeties' heart.

Looks like a hacksaw is your next tool to solve this problem. All these parts are standard plumbing items, so once you get to a good connection, just replace what’s needed.

Yes, that was fun! I woke up this morning and decided to hack it. Then, I went to see what my answers were from my post. Thanks for the confirmation.
BTW, for those who have the pop up drain plug like mine and are experiencing slow drainage....
Spin off that disk and grab some tweezers to remove the entrapped hair below it. Pulled a good palmful out of the old one.
New fixtures work great.

Daryl, although your wrench is damned handy, I think the OP's issue was the knurled nut was "welded" to the down pipe.

That's what I thought when I first saw the picture.

These things are great for getting hair out of a drain.

Big Thanks
To ALL.
Got everything installed, just waiting for neighbor to come by and hold faucet in place while I tighten bottom ring.
But, No leakies and even got good drainage.
