New Office Area in Monty
Here are pics of the new office area. Removed the sofa and installed the desk. Still working on how and where to move the wiring that was under the sofa. DW now has a very comfortable area to work/teach from as we travel.

Looks very nice. My DW is a bookkeeper and our unit has a built in desk with the TV above and she sits there and is not in the way of watching the TV

Not at all, jeffba! DW is 5' and normally needs a foot rest. With the desk like this, the slide rise works as the foot rest. She purchased a very nice office chair that telescopes up and it is perfect for her and all I have to do is lower the chair a tad. One of the dog beds fit there nicely also (for her baby) so everyone is happy.

awheeler - very nice! Getting ready to do the same and curious if/how you secured the desk for transport purposes?

I used L-brackets screwed on the floor/back of the desk, just like you would for a child's dresser/wall.

No problem with the chair and carpet as yet. I will one day replace the carpet anyway, so for now it's fine.

awheeler - showed the DW the pictures of your desk and she loved it. We now have one (same desk) but on the opposite slide of our 3791RD. Curious if you've done anything to hide the existing wires at the footer, and/or thought about adding an outlet on the side slide wall for pc, etc.? The closest existing outlet is on the rear wall by the TV and while not a great distance I would like to hide the power chord/surge protector wires if possible.

No, not yet! I just had eye surgery on my left eye so, I can't see a darn thing! Getting the next eye done on the 19th (March). I am guessing it will be a couple of months before I can see well enough to work on the wires - which is okay as it gives me time to decide how I want to re-run the wiring.

Looks great! Hope you don't park too close to folks who don't like music.
DW plays guitar and some like it and some don't. Different strokes for different folks.

Hi Don, it’s an electric kit. I can play during the day with music thru a monitor or @ 3AM with headphones. Neighbors don’t even know it’s here! DW plays “listener” and complains when I’m not playing them

Looks good! Thanks for sharing. DH and I are in the research phase of our purchase. A friend of ours who owns a Montana said to make sure we get one with space for an office if we plan to be in it for long periods of time. We have thought about doing exactly what you've done and turn a couch slide into an office slide. Glad to see it works!

The company office was in northwest Austin since the late 90s. My commute was 1 hour each way. The younger generation of current management thought it would fun to move the office to downtown. I told them I would not be making THAT commute on a daily basis any longer. When they moved to the new downtown office in August 2019 I started working from home 3-4 days a week. When covid hit - everybody was working from home, and then gradually a few folks drifted back to the office over the past few months...mostly folks with little kids or situations that made work at home difficult. NOT ME! my kids are long gone. I LOVE working at home! I am more productive here. I will need to go into the office for occasional meetings - but I hope my days of daily commuting is OVER! I have been in this business for 43 years - I would love to have back the time I spent commuting for even half of that time...leave the house at 6:00 am and get home at 6:00 pm. Working from home is good for me!

With our 2007 3500RL, after replacing the factory tv with a flat screen, I was able to use the dead space behind the old tv and make a slide shelf for my wife’s printer. The unit has a secretarial desk and 2 drawers beside the tv/ fireplace. Thus worked out well for her.
