Arm of awning not operating

Hi. 2021 Montana. Smaller awning arm closest to door doesn’t extend. I have to manually hold open to extend. Any suggestions?

Our awning has done that since new. We push the open button for a second, then grab the awning arm and push it out, then the awning will extend like it should. When we are stationary for a while, we retract it to just shy of fully retracted, then it will extend OK the next time.
