USB Power tower
The USB ports on my power tower stopped working (led went off). The power outlets work fine still. Not sure why the USB ports would stop working. Anyone know how to repair this?

I had a wire come loose in mine which kept the USB ports from working. After popping the nails that hold the side panel on, you can unscrew a large nut that holds the tower in. The whole tower can be replaced if it is more than a loose wire.

Side panel that has 110v outlet? Is it another panel? This is the dining table pop up in a 3855 if it makes any difference

It is the panel right next to the popup. On my rig the outlet is on the other side of the dinette from the popup.

This is not an uncommon problem. Here is a link to a previous posts with pictures of the panel to be removed.

Wow! This is why I love the Montana Owners forum. I had this very problem happen this morning. I used a pocket knife to pry the panel off. Made the repair and replaced the staples with screws. THANKS

They are standard USB. If memory serves, it's 5 amps. I had to replace one of my popup outlets because the receptacle melted. I still have the USB circuit board inside if you need it. Saved it in case it died in another one. My unit has 3. PM me with and address if you need it.

llooked it up
In the USB 1.0 and 2.0 specs, a standard downstream port is capable of delivering up to 500mA (0.5A); with USB 3.0, it moves up to 900mA (0.9A). The charging downstream and dedicated charging ports provide up to 1,500mA (1.5A)

And chargers for some of the newer Androids at least are putting out 3 amps, thus on some of the AC/DC power ports it takes days to charge a new phone.
I pulled the AC/DC outlet in our unit and replaced with a standard duplex outlet.
