How thick is the roof
I have a 2018 3811MS. I am planning on putting on solar panels and another person said the roof might only be 1/4" to 5/16" thick. I don't think you can walk on 1/4". I thought the roof was 3/8" when it is walkable but can't find proof. Does anyone know for sure?

There are several “keystone factory tour” or “montana factory tour” videos on YouTube that will help you understand the roof construction. Try googling for the videos. Sorry but I don’t know how to link to videos on this iPad. The roof is walkable and it is probably the 5/16” OSB decking. Someone here will have info on mounting solar.

I did check out one video, but it is 10 years old. I doubt 5/16 is walkable. I have spent a lot of time talking to a US based solar provider and he uses VHB tape plus 3/4" SS sheet metal screws. They have never lost a panel.
Thanks for your input.

Whatever the actual thickness is - I have walked on mine numerous times with confidence. Watch this video by forum member “home with the hoopers” and start a new thread titled “need info for solar mounts” and you will get good info.

I have walked on mine a lot too, and I weigh 200lbs. The video isn't too informative re roof thickness, but if I was going to guess I would say 3/8".

I just watched a video of the 2020 production line and 1/2" certainly would not be out of line with what I could see. It certainly was not 1/2 or 5/16, the board was far too stiff for that, either 3/8 or 1/2 makes more sense.

Our unit is 3/8" plywood not OSB. I had to replace a tank vent and found that one out.
