Toilet Foot Pedal Not Working
We have a 2013 Montana Highlander. When we step on the toilet foot pedal, nothing happens. I'm wondering if there is a way to repair the problem or do I need to buy a new toilet?

I'd call and RV Tech - better yet - get a new Dometic 320

Just a Dometic 320. You will find best price at eTrailer or PPL. I put one in my last 2 fivers and with the new Montana I need 2 but my wife wanted a 1/2 bath.....

If you don't want the elongated bowl of the Dometic 320, the Dometic 310 is also an excellent toilet to replace the junk Thetford toilet.

If you go back a number of years you'll find threads on how to fix Tetford toilets. Since then most of us have given up and just changed it to a Dometic.

1 hours work and you are done. This includes adding a shutoff valve.

There are two "bicycle" type brake cables that go from the foot pedals to the valve assembly. One opens the drop door and the other operates the water valve. Eventually the cables rust through and break, thus no flushing.
I've replaced both of our cables using parts from a bike store since both have rusted through at different times. Total parts cost $12. New ones are already rusting, so I definitely will be upgrading to Dometic next time the Thetford fails.

Has anybody tried installing a toilet seat bidet on these new RV porcelain toilets?
