Easily done. Bring your check book. Can only speak to Ford trucks. Ours is extended because of time, not mileage. Got ours thru our dealer, 2011 model year extended thru 2021/86K. 45K currently. Several options offered by ford and other insurers. Start with a Ford dealer. Lost an injector pump, tow, rental car for three days and parts and labor was half the premium paid in one incident. No deductable. Shop around for what is best for you.

If you have a Ford and buy an ESP then buy the Ford ESP rather than a 3rd party ESP. Less hassle if you need to use it. There are a number of options available in terms of years and miles. Example you can get 7yr/100,000, or 7yr/125,000, or 7yr/150,000. Or other time and mileage variations. And different component coverages.
And shop on line for the best price. Since it is an official Ford plan it doesn’t matter who you buy it from. And some dealers offer much better pricing than your local dealer might.

Personally I think they are a waste of money. There is a deductible on each repair. Funny how it never covers what you have go bad. Its just another way for the dealer to get more money out of you. They sell ESP's on everything these days. should tell you something. You would be better off putting that money in savings account. I had one on my 12 Taurus SHO that I ordered and waited 6 weeks for. My ESP didn't cover anything I had issues with. It was from Ford. Read the fine print. Another thing why dont they charge you interest on the money? It's all profit for them.

I’ll add abuse to what Rich said. If your high pressure fuel pump goes out and they can find rust or dirt in it that’s abuse and not covered. To replace the pump and all fuel lines and injectors is about 8 grand out of your pocket. I read on the F150 form all the time someone has a problem that isn’t covered even on their 3 year warranty.

This is true. It is very important to read and understand a extended warranty or any warranty.

From personal experience go with the mfg. ESP. I used a third party once and it went belly up. No return on the time left on the contract. Dealer said they were sorry but they could not honor or reimburse the plan and they are the ones that sold me the policy. Needless to say I don't do business with them anymore.

FWIW, I have the Ford ESP (now called Protect) on my truck for a couple more years or to136,000 miles. If the truck was a '15 or newer, might not bother since what few problems there was on the original '11 JOB 1 units have been pretty well worked out. Mine came from Leonard Ford, in CT after shopping around

Look at www.zieglerfordesp.com
I found out about this Ford dealership from another Montana forum. I haven't purchased my extended warranty yet, but, I intend to buy from them soon. The prices are cheaper than what I paid on my sons truck when we bought it last year from another Ford dealership. Wish I had found them sooner

Be sure to do a Google search for dealers who sell the Ford Factory extended warranty. There are a number of them. I have used Ford of Greenfield ( http://www.FD-Warranty.com ) for my last two purchases. Troy Dietrich is a pleasure to work with.

While I don't generally buy extended warranties, I have found it worthwhile on my truck that pulls a lot lot of weight and is driven off road a fair amount while hunting. I would put my truck in the higher risk category of something breaking based on its use. So far it has paid for itself. Bought mine through USAA and received good service.

We also shopped around for our Ford ESP. We had a low price from a Dealer in the NE states. I took that quote to our local dealer and they matched it.

I did the same. Initially local dealer wanted something like a $1,000 more for it. When I showed them the on line quote they dropped to about $100 over the quote. Went ahead and bought from my dealer for the little difference.
