Electrical Fuse Panel
LAst week, my wife and I purchased a 2001 Montana 305 FKS. We couldn't pass it up. It looks like it has never been used. We are excited, and will be taking it on our first trip next weekeend (Memorial) with our two children. One thing I noticed is that the electrical fuse panel is located right next to the bed, below the cabinet. There is a humm coming from the panel when the breaker is turned on for the fridge. I think this is going to bother me when I sleep. If I turn off the breaker, the humm stops. Has anyone else had this problem? If I replace the breaker, will this solve the problem? Thanks in advance for your help. I found this "Montana Owner's Club" prior to buying our trailer. Your comments about the Montana helped influence me to make the purchase.[8d]
Joe.

Hi,
Perhaps if the RV hasn’t been used in a while, the 12v deepcycle battery has a very low charge. When 1st plugged into AC power, the 12V DC converter goes to work to fully charge the battery. You will hear this noise as being present until the battery becomes fully charged. Then it won’t be a noticeable problem.
Hope it turns out to be as simple a problem as that for you. All the best.
- R

A funny one . . . didn’t see the date in the fine print.
You know what they say. . . .
“The large print giveth, but the fine print taketh away.”

BTW: The early post came up on a Google search. I’m adding led awning lights and was looking for an image of the back of the dc side of the electric panel to help me access one of the “spare” circuits to use for these lights.
“14 y ago” . . . Hmm.
The internet has a l-o-n-g memory. Better keep moral with that its use . . . <grin>
