Washer Drain??
We have a 2005 3400RL Montana and this is the situation. The RV came with a stacked washer/dryer which is nice however the washer drain is plumbed to the black water tank. We've lived with this and what a pain! The black water tank drain must be opened when the wife uses the washer and it accomplishes nothing as far as flushing the solids from the black water tank, I still must flush the tank after several loads of wash. My question is this: has anyone ever replumbed the washer drain to the grey water tank which is normally left open when we're set up and using the RV. How much trouble would it be to move this line and plug the hole in the black water tank? Thanks in advance for any and all help in this situation, I'm sure Montana thought this to be a good idea but not so.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to how they are plumbed. Some go to the black tank. Some (including mine) go to the grey tank. And some go directly to the sewer outlet. If I remember right, mine goes into a Y with the bathroom sink drain. (In storage so can't go look right now)
Probably only way to know your options is to look at the routing of all the current grey tank plumbing and see if you can tap into one of those.

My 3750 went straight to drain. We had to be connected to sewer or the tote. Two loads would overflow tote

Anything can be re-plumbed if you have experience with working on plumbing waste lines.

Hey thanks, great reply did not know some were plumbed to the drain itself. Don't think this would be my choice either. Guess I'll have to remove some of the under belly and take a look.

Thanks for the reply, did not know some were plumbed to the drain but not the greatest of ideas as you said. I guess I'll remove some under belly and take a look at replumbing to my grey water.

You're right here, just a chore and hopefully able to see an easy way to cut and replumb my washer drain to the grey water tank. As one informed me the drain line is not the best of ideas unless you're connected to a sewer hookup. Thanks for replying

Our 06 3400 went directly to the drain as does our 13 3402 Big Sky. We are most always connected to a hookup except when in travel .
