Every Little Bit Helps with Your A/C
Others have mentioned doing this, but I was working on a fiver that needed that little bit of help, so I snapped a couple of photos. Remove the screws from the bonnet and the 4 lag bolts from inside the A/C pan. The roof unit will tilt to one side wire length allowing. Whoever on the assembly line taped up the return and supply duct cutouts beneath the A/C unit to seal them from the attic space might as well not bothered. I added to the OEM aluminum tape as shown to make it actually seal. Before I lagged it back to the roof ... I checked the divider between the return and supply air to be sure it was in place properly for sealing between the two as well. In this case ... it made a 4 degree difference in supply air temp by not sucking and blowing a bit of air from and into the attic space
