I-35 south
I spotted at least 11 Montana's heading south on I-35 this Saturday after thanksgiving. I was the odd one heading north in November returning to Iowa after spending a couple of weeks in Texas. Flashed my light's at most of them if I seen them soon enough but didn't notice anyone flashing me. Did have one person wave at me as we passed though. Was an enjoyable vacation though and vowed never to travel thru southern Oklahoma again. WOW northbound I-35 for the first 20-30 miles if really bad with the blacktop all heaved and tosses you around like a rag doll. For a while I thought I was going to loose the Monty. Good thing the winds were from the south and not cross winds or it very easily could have tossed the trailer on to its side. After the first time I slowed way down and was more of a nuisance to the rest of the traffic. But that scared the life out of my whole family. After 30 miles or so it was all new blacktop and was a lot better. But those first few miles are going to cause some accidents someday.

We are also from Iowa,Cedar Rapids, After seeing the weather up there, you should have stayed here. We are in Alamo TX for the winter. As we were going south we also seen a few heading north,so don't feel alone. Have fun and see you in the spring.

We also are from Cedar Rapids. I worked for Rockwell-Collins Radio, as did my wife. We lived in CR for 25 years, off and on.

Hey, you guys can have an Iowa reunion with Glen. He was born and raised in New Hampton many moons ago. We'll be in Mission for a couple of months starting January 10th.

I'd love to meet all of you. But unfortunately for me I still have to work for a living. Maybe someday I will be lucky as you all and be able to travel south for the winter. Until then I will just have to stay up here and envy all of you. Enjoy the weather down there and let us all know if you decide to get together somewhere back home and I would love to get together with everyone. Maybe we should pick a date next summer and set something up to all try and get together here in our great state. I would be more than willing to help set something up. I know there are a lot of Montana's running around iowa.

Fordzilla, we're hoping to be in northeast Iowa around August 1 for a family reunion, if that gives you any ideas. We always love to meet other Iowans.
