Richard66,
I've had the Pacbrake exhaust brake and air bags since the spring of 2009. So far no problems at all. In my discussions with the guys in Vancouver, they told me the compressor has a reed type check valve that is designed to leak a bit so that it will lose pressure when you shut off the vehicle so when the air recharges, it causes the brake valve to cycle. The theory is that if the valve gets exercised regularly, then it won't seize up on you.
If Pacbrake compressors are causing a problem, you may be able to buy a satisfactory different brand and install it instead.
Good Luck,
Rob
