fix foam seal around escape window
I have an escape window over the computer desk. It has a handle and then will fold up (I think) to allow exit. This is sealed by a foam rubber trim around the frame. Of course after almost 10 years sitting outside, the rubber is compressed and no longer is a tight fit. So the window actually can wiggle about 1/8 to 1/4 inch or so. I haven't noticed any water seeping in, of course AZ storage only gets 7 inches of year and we are gone during the summer when 1/2 of it comes.
I guess I need to open the window all the way to see if the seal is on the top also, which if the hinge is there it will be harder to stick in some no foam rubber.
Has anyone had a similar problem with the foam and what did you do?
Thanks.
