Install the Allstays app on your phone it is a great resource. You might want to narrow your area down to a region of ID. as I do not know where to start.

What part of Idaho are you visiting. I live in the Boise S.W. Portion of the state and have traveled the state for many years. Let me know where you are going and I may be able to help. Remember that the south end of the state is agriculture and high desert. The central and northern portion of the state is mountains and rivers. But both have their own beauty if you know where to look.

We stayed at Red Rock RV Park in Island Park, ID a few years ago when we visited Yellowstone N.P. It was about a 20 mile drive up to the West Entrance, but we always enjoyed the drive.
That area of Idaho is worth a visit in its own right. We enjoyed Johnny Sack's cabin and that entire area. There was also a youth rodeo about a half mile down the road from the campground.
That's the only campground in Idaho where we have stayed.

I will second the Allstays app, I use it for every trip. That said, there are many campgrounds and rv parks in the area of West Yellowstone. The price range is pretty drastic depending on what you want. Two KOAs just outside of West are pretty pricey and Grizzly RV park in West is very nice but also pricey. If your on a budget, Macks Inn Rv, Red Rocks, and Jareds Wild Rose, are all in the $30 a night price range and about 12 to 15 miles from the park. Welcome to Idaho!

There is an rv park or campground east of Coeur'd Alene called Wolf Lodge. I've never stayed there but lived north of thers for about 7months. North Idaho is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Might as well visit Glacier park while you're there.

McCall is a very nice 'touristy' town. The McCall RV Park is rated by Trailer Life as a 10/10/10 or close. It is very nice.

Do expect ALL camp ground to be full. Record number of visitors in the parks.

There is supposed to be a couple of really nice ones near the Coeur-D' Alene, probably need to book well in advance. Lewiston/Clarkston also has some fairly nice ones if you are not on the I 90 route.
