Outside shower quick connection
We just purchased a new 2013 3150RL while at the big tent event at Quartzsite. Everything seems to be working fine except for the fact we can't get the male end of the quick connect to connect with the female end of the outside shower. It will not insert far enough for the collar to lock around it. I'm wondering if something was changed from last year's model so they aren't compatible. On our previous 2010 Montana we used the outside shower hose to connect with the black water flush out. It would be nice to be able to make the connection again. I called the dealer in Fresno, CA and did everything he asked and also sent pictures, but no solution as of yet. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

It might need a little WD-40 sprayed on the collar and work it a little. This may clean it up some and get it working. This worked for me. Joe

They can be a real pita to get to snap into place. As Joe said, try some lube on it.

Mine does the same thing, and I guess I'll be trying the WD-40 too.

Ours tends to do that when I haven't used it for months (I have a T in my water hose and use my own backflow preventer so I don't do backflush that way) but when it sticks I use some restaurant grade silicon and then it fits again.

I typically do not use WD-40 on anything with rubber seals as it contains some solvent. But I did lube mine with something (???? been a while) and it greatly eased the insertion. I am thinking I may have used a very light app of lithium, but not sure now.

Just sprayed lub on ours last week when we got the new Monty it to our winter location. The previous one in our 2010 Montana Mountaineer rusted and had to be replaced with different connection style due to the OEM parts being made of cold-rolled steel with no moisture protection and the internals rusted into a fixed position. Inspected the new one and its the same model all-over-again so I hope lub to this part every few weeks will help.

I've seen myself in the mirror with little or no clothes on and would subject that to others even by accident. Never even considered showering with it.

After struggling with this issue several times I decided that once I got the quick disconnect to connect I would not disconnect it. So my coiled hose is semi-permanently installed in the convenience center.

Yes,"semi-permanently installed" in how we use ours. We usually keep the other end hooked to the black tank flush.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but nothing worked. The male end cannot go in far enough for the collar to close around it.

The lube didn't help. It seems that the male end is too long for the collar to grab onto it. We had another suggestion of filing the end down. NOT going to try that!! I am really wondering if they changed something with the collar end on the 2013s and didn't match it with the hose ending.
