Scan Gauge II
I just bought myself this really cool new gadget. I plugs into the ODBII port and with the 6ft cable was able to route and place it on left side of dashboard. I've set up two of the open memory Xgauge registers with Trans Fluid Temp and Boost pressure. Allows me to monitor 4 Digital Gauge readouts simultaneously...TFT, PSI, ECT & EOT.

Good little tool. If only someone could come up with a way to display even one of the four exhaust temperature values available on the CAN buss of the later model Ford diesels.

I'm not sure there are any CAN buss exhaust sensors...because if there were you'd be able to monitor it with this toy! There are numerous manually available PID values being published to allow owners to see data. Only way to get the exhaust temp is to drill exhaust and install a sensor, cable and gauge. So...my low tech way to make sure I'm not toasting my Turbo is to wait for the EOT value to come down within 6 - 7 degrees of the ECT.

You are correct for the 6.0L Fords. But the newer 6.4L and 6.7L have four sensors in the exhaust. There are other gauges on the market that display EGT for those models without installing a probe. I just haven't discovered the PID code(s) yet.
P.S. I see in your other thread (Turbo Hose) you discovered the problem with the original boost values being incorrect over ~22 PSI. In case you haven't found a better set of PIDS for PSI (or BST as the author named it) here is the link

If you have a Garmin GPS, they have an interface to the ODBII port. It displays whatever is available, so it seems. My truck has gauges so I only gained a couple more for my $100 investment. The Garmin readings are better then the truck gauges that only indicate if there is a problem. I now can see the actual coolant temperture in degrees, battery voltage to the tenth/volt etc.

I have the Garmin ecoroutehd Cyrus mentioned, the one that plugs into the obdii port and displays five gauges on the Nuvi. I don't think it shows me all the options for values it can read from the computer and I have used the Garmin suggestion line to ask for more. I don't get to see tranny temperature, which is one thing I really wanted. And, of course, no EGT.
I don't get to see boost directly but I do get to see Intake Manifold Pressure which I understand is either the same thing or is close enough to provide the same information.
I also watch mass airflow but am not sure what that tells me. Also, coolant temperature in both digital and analog format. That pretty much confirms what the dash gauge says but this gives me more precise info.
There are some things I don't like about the current iteration of the ecoroutehd but hope software updates will improve it.

Finally!! The Scan Gauge folks came up some new data for 6.4L (and perhaps 6.7L) diesel motors that I have been searching for. Specifically three measures of Exhaust Temperature. The 6.4L and later motors monitor exhaust temperatures as part of the engine management function. There is no need to drill a hole for a probe as was done for earlier motors. San Gauge now has the coding you need to report: - Exhaust Gas Temp (Before Catalyst)
- Exhaust Gas Temp (After Catalyst)
- Exhaust Gas Temp (After DPF)

Check out the Dash Dac. You can scan dozens of signals at once. I display 10 at the same time, and can move from screen to screens to read all of them. I display EOT. EFT, TFT, Fuel temp, Boost, EGT, Engine Torque, Fuel rail pressure, EGR % of open, Torque converter slip, and have alarms set for each one, both a high alarm and one if they are too low.
