Dehumidifier or not?
Couldn't find much info on any recent searches....worth getting a small dehumidifier or are cracking vents and using fantastic fan enough? Picking up our first owned Montana this weekend, 08 3400, and just trying to look at everything. Thanks, D

We open vents, windows and use fantastic fan most of the time. When it starts to cool down and get close to zero degrees and moisture starts to build up on windows, we use our dehumidifier. Not only does it get rid of the moisture but generates some heat at the same time. Moisture in any rv is NOT good! This subject has been discussed before on this site. I'm sure others will join in with their thoughts. Good luck with your new to you Montana. They are great rigs!

Are you talking about when the trailer is in storage or when it's being used? when our trailer isn't being used in the winter, I have a heater set on low running inside and it keeps the humidity down.

We keep a small humidifier (Windchaser brand that we purchased at Wal-Mart) in the rig for use when needed. The only time we have found that it is needed is when the outside temperature is cooler than the rig's inside temperature. Here is a link to the manufacturer of the one we use, an internet search should find the lowest price if you are interested. As for performance, we have removed a cup a day of moisture from the rig and prevented condensation on the windows by using this unit. In other words, we like it, we use it, and it stays in the rig on a permanent basis.

Hope this helps.

We had 2 small ones we hauled around for a bit, but didn't really need them.
In the summer, the A/C takes care of the humidity. In the winter, the furnace dries out the air so you don't need them then.

We usually keep one of the forward roof vents slightly opened, whether running a/c or heat...seems to work for us.

We do the same as Ozz, Michael & Camilla. We also have a 2008 3400RL.
