Our camping carrier has begun!!!!
As a kid my dad always had his GMC 2500 to do everthing with, we refered to it as "The big truck". We cut fire wood, towed the boat and 5ver did everything with that truck. As a kid I worshiped and loved that truck. Now grown up I realize that for me its a natural progression. Every man should have his truck!... a real truck... his "Big Truck". Now on with the rest of the story.......
SOOOO......I just threw money down on a new f-350 dually!!! I dont think I could have ordered it any better.. power mirrors.. Nav... LCP productivity screen... 5th wheel install kit for Reese elite series hitch. Its going to be schweeeet!
After the bank account stablizes we will get the 5ver! Its going to be fun looking for a few months deciding which one to get and not really having to worry about hitch weights and gvwr's. I still dont wanna go over 14k on the 5vr tho.
Thanks for listening..
Ren

My first truck was an F-250 SRW, 6-speed manual. That was a great truck. Even the DW liked to drive it. After we added an exhaust brake and auxilliary fuel tank, we were living high on the hog. Pulled up and down the Rockies, went down the Baja to Cabo San Lucas (and back) and saw a lot of country with our 5vr.
Keep us updated on your selection process for your 5vr.

CONGRATS!!! on the purchase of your 2011 Super Duty. Everything I have read and seen on this truck makes it the ULTIMATE towing machine. Hook that SD to a monty and let the good times roll!

I know how excited you are, and you are at the right place here to share your dreams and visions. A new truck is so sweet, I know if you decide on a Montana you will be happy. So many of us here can't be the minority in our satisfaction with the trailers. I have a 3400RL, we love it and have no desire to trade.
Ask questions, read up, and keep dreaming!

If you'll check the weights, most Montanas are using 7k axles...thus 16k GWs. Only the smaller units are in the 14k range.
But that's okay, that dually can handle it!

Thanks for the encouraging words guys!
Right now we are really liking the Mountaineer 326rlt.... but there is also a huge RV show coming up January 13th - 17th in Tampa.. so we are going to stomp around on other Montana models. Were probably also going to go back up to Lazy days and look at even more!

At the RV Show, make sure you check out the Montana 3750FL. My 3500 pulls it with ease. Unique floorplan.
