I was wondering if they would carry that design into the heavier trucks once I saw it in the 1500. Love the look - kind of '59 Desoto to me.
What do you do, they change every couple of years, just like Montana.

Chrysler Recalling Over 100,000 Dodge Ram Diesels for Possible Fire Hazard
Posted by Mike Levine | December 10, 2008
Chrysler is recalling over 100,000 Dodge Ram pickups with 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engines after 14 reports of fires.
This may be of interest to you Dodge drivers. It was on the same page as above.
BTW. That is a great looking Dodge, glad they finally came out with the 8 ft bed in the larger cabs.....Can you say MONSTER TRUCK????

Rich. I know that mt friends CC Ford has a lot of leg room, but my other friends Mega Cab has more leg room and the seat reclines a little bit too. the video shows for 2010 a mega cab long bed comming out this year, so it is not made yet, but will be here this year it has a beafer front end to handle more weight, no more fiberglass wheel wells a formed metal sided truck bed, intragated brake controler, a gob of new and better stuff. It should be interresting to see if Dodge and GM stay afloat, unlike Ford not holding there tin cup out for money from the tax payers.
Exav8er. I called Chrysler India and my Vin # is not involved in the recall thanks for the heads up on that

Rich the light finally came on for me. I didnt quite understand abour the bird cage going through the door. yep, been there dun it. for yellow nape. ahh what you need is that Chevy 5500, now that has some really big doors, a person could do the two step through them with Alen Jackson singing behind you.

I think Chrysler lost some business by not making a CC long bed 1 ton the last couple years. I looked at Dodge when I bought my Chevy and was put off by the shortest bed on the market. I wanted a long bed so went with the Chevy. That new one sure looks nice though. And with a Cummins!!!!

I agree, didn't Dodge make a crew cab years ago, after they lost the defence contract thats when they stoped making big vehicles, Dodge has lost a major part of the RV industry due to there inability to listen to what the end user wants, and there delay has cost them money, and posably there company. lets hope that doesn't happen.
I hope that my new Dodge gives me all the good carefree miles that my other truck did.
I'll get off the soap box now.

Well atleast my dogcage fits thru the back door on our Dodge 3500 DRW and I have my longbed! We keep our 2 mini daushunds in the cage while we travel. Ya can get a longbed Mega from a shop in SLC, Ut. they really do a nice job, saw one in Moab. Gotta love the Cummins

I got the recall notice last week but haven't taken the truck in yet. The issue is on some of them the noise deadening pad on the underside of the hood may touch a hot part on the engine. I'll get mine in one of these days. I'm due for a fuel filter change anyhow.

Rich, did you really mean that birdcage won't go through a rear MegaCab door or did you maybe mean the QuadCab? The MegaCab rear doors are huge, maybe largest in the industry (not positive if they're the largest but I think so.) I know you prefer the longbed, which has not been available in the megacab so I thought maybe you really meant it won't go in the quadcab? Here's the megacab doors.
FLSTS03, you're correct that the new Dodge cab for 2010 is an enlarged quadcab to be comparable to the crewcabs on the other brands. Originally I heard they would drop the megacab, which is the largest cab in any brand in this category of truck but now I'm hearing they'll carry it over.

Of course the lack of long bed negated the Dodge for us. As I recall we measured the door width of the mega cab and it was a bit to short. I will admit that the travel cage is..well///big... However Now I am not sure about which one we measured. I will have new truck fever by 2011/2112 and we will see. I am partial to the Cummins...

Thanks for the update, Rich. I just wasn't sure. That megacab rear door is big, so that must be some kind of birdcage!
