Now mandated by federal law as I remember -- as of 1 September -- yep - the link Ozz provided above has it -- came into effect in 2005 and required Auto makers to have them in place by 1 Sep 2007.

Rich: the TPM system is a Job 2 standard feature for SD trucks built after July.

So would this system have a way to reset the current pressures you are riding with? Because when I tow I have may rear tires at 80psi, but when I am not towing I drop the pressure down to 70psi.

Fire5er. My system came with a small wireless electronic device along with instructions on resetting tire pressure if you should rotate tires or want to change the pressure. It looks to be a slightly complicated procedure, but, like anything else, once you actually do it a couple of times it would probably be easy.

Just be aware that if your TPM uses the ABS system to monitor the tires they are seriously underinflated by the time a warning light comes on
