Need Quick answer regarding jacking trailer
I intend to adjust my trailer brakes on Sunday. I saw at Camping World a device that you can use on the highway where you just drive your good tire up onto and then can remove and change your other tire on same side.
Although it seems like a good way to go I think it may not be for the following reasons.
Doing so now places all the weight onto one axle which will almost certainly exceed its rating. Since it is lifting the rig by the one tire and axle alone. Perhaps since it should only be a very short duration it presents no problem but I am not certain.
If any of you know for sure about this please let me know asap as I will only be able to get to this forum up to 5pm today and then I won't have access til Monday again. My pc at home may not be online as it has been acting up.
If any of you have this device and have successfully used it and see no problem please reply.
I suspect jacking and lifting the trailer at the point where the springs meet the chassis is the best way to lift the trailer and not hurt the chassis, frame nor axles. Please advise asap.
Thanks
