New Fireplace
Just completed the installation of a new fireplace where the cubboards were under the TV. I took off ther endplate at the back of the cubboard and replaced with a vent screen. I re-used the doors and put them on the island where there was bare spots.
My wife really likes this now! Three pictures, before/after/Island.

Nice job!
Looks as good as or better than a factory installation.

Snazzy! Where did you get the trim for around the fireplace or did you make it?

About the island? What doors did you add that came from the fireplace area? It looks great and any door would improve accessibility.
It all looks great!

Dieselguy - the trim was purchased at a local (Home Depot) and then using Oak backing to close up the whole around the fireplace I then added the trim on top. (it's all oak with stain to match - as close as I could)
Art - the 2 doors on either side of the 3 small doors are the ones that came from the TV Cabinet. They are dummy doors. ( I didn't want to open up behind because I think there is piping and wiring to deal with)

Greg where did you buy the heater incert? Did you have to buy the whole fireplace then use the heater incert only.

Don (Trailertrash2) - I purchased the fireplace at Home Depot when they had a sale 1/2 price ($160.00). I then took the fireplace mantel(still in box) and sold it for $50.00 on Kijii. So net for the fireplace, $110 (cdn).
