Belly Pan tape
MOC experts:
I have a 2006 3400 - there is tape on the belly pan joints where the ?platic? sheets meet. Perhaps factory, perhaps post repairs I am not sure. In any case, the tape is starting to fall off. Plse suggest the correct tape to use ?
Many thx
-Steve

I don't think you need tape, but if you do, see post above:

I'm with Ozz,mine has no tape. The sections are situated so that the gaps face the rear so that the wind won't get in and tear those panel off

I ask about the tape for that very reason. The 'center' panel was hanging down & acting as a giant air scoop. I think who-ever cut the panel in the past didnt leave enough material to tuck it into the next panel to keep it from falling down. Gorilla tape it is.
thx

I too use Gorilla tape. While you're down there you might think about using it on any openings that would invite small 4 legged unwanted guests from entering. On our Monty there was quite a gap across the back by the hitch. One of the first trips we took, a red squirrel went in and up to the inner roof via the rear cap. Openings around the spring hangers and hydraulic slide-out pistons are also now closed on ours.

I have had to drop mine for a number of reasons and am sticking to the overlap and screws.

If you haven't put fender washers between the head of the screw and the underbelly do so when reinstalling the belly pan! It makes it much easier to work on the underside at a later date if needed and also holds the overlappings better IMHO. If you have a new unit, you should have a single underbelly pan instead of sections. Many of the members have replaced the screws and washers with stainless steel ones so they don't rust. I have not and they seem OK!

We have the one-piece underbelly. We have used Gorilla tape along with Flex-Seal which is spray-able rubber. Seals the tape in place.
When we had a blow out, the resultant damage included some parts of the weather protector (for want of better words) on the frame being torn. The insulation was showing hinting to me that this area should stay waterproof. With some Gorilla tape and Flex-Seal (purchased at a local Best Buy) the area is good as new (maybe better!).
