Been there done that! Darn I'm old.
Those Sugar Daddy suckers would almost last the whole show.
And there still is, today, a drive in movie theater about 12 miles from my old home. Of course it is not open in the winter. I remember a few drive in theaters that gave you a heater to hang on the window.
Ah! The then days!

Glenn; Some of us didn't grow up in the 50s. My kids grew up in the 50s & 60s. When O'Bama takes the oath, I will have been alive for 14 presidents. Hoover was was sitting when I was born. But I do recall a few things before the 50s that were also interesting. I enjoy going to Cracker Barrel restaurants to look over the collection of things hanging in them. A lot of it I used while growing up on a farm in Indiana. And they weren't antiques! As we travel around the country there's only been a couple things I couldn't put a name to in the restaurants.

I remember most of those things and I do thank you for the memories however I do pine to go back. Those were some good-ole-days and life was not near as complicated as it is now. However I do not fail when I have to opportunity to re-visit those times - were there is a song and TV show that describes. "Happy Days" with the Fonz.
