Advice on selling a combo
Any of you chumps have experience or advice on selling a truck and fifth wheel combo??
I have a '22 F350 CCSB XLT premium 7.3, 4,30, camper cert with torklift stuff, 5 k miles. And a '09 2955RL, goosebox, new lift jacks, stored under a roof, will need tires for age.
I have used craigs list but it has its bs, RV Trader or other suggestions??
I had a hip replaced then acquired another "condition" and will not be able to use it.

Truly sorry to hear about your health issues. Good luck on selling your combo. I don't use Facebook (DW does and keeps up with the grandkids that way) but I know others have had good luck on Facebook Marketplace selling rigs and equipment.

I sold my 2007 3075RL in 2 days on Facebook Marketplace. But that was just the trailer, not a combo. But no reason you can’t try. It is free.
Some people advertise a combo with a statement that they will sell as a combo for a special combo price, or separately for individual prices a little higher. But separately will only sell the truck after the trailer is sold so they are not stuck with a trailer and no way to move it.

Beginning in 2022, eBay and other online marketplaces were supposed to send you an IRS form 1099 for sales over $20K. You might want to look into that, I wouldn't want to pay taxes on that sale.

Recommend you expressive willingness to sell the trailer stand alone as well as with the truck. I would not let the truck go until the trailer is gone. The market for your truck would be larger if it was diesel.

Thanks for the comments. I haven't heard about the 1099, that would be a disaster.
I agree on posting them as the trailer first with the truck as an option.
And not selling the truck will the trailer is sold.
I don't like facebook either, there were too many females wanting to be a friend years ago??

John,
Good luck. Getting a 1099 does not automatically mean you would pay tax on it.

Not going to pay taxes on something that has depreciated. Can’t imagine any camper or truck has increased in value since covid

Years ago eBay started requiring your S.S. # before you are allowed to list something for sale...that's the day I said Bye Bye eBay....

All 3 manufacturers have struggled to produce heavy duty pickups since the pandemic, Ford seems to have struggled more than the other 2. If you couple that with the pending auto workers strike later this month, the now limited supply will only decrease even more. Your truck might be much more valuable than you would think. If there's a Ford guy out there looking for a super duty, a truck that new and extremely low mileage might be extremely attractive.

You are correct. I sold my Montana in 2021, right in the middle of the shortage of parts and few trucks on the lots, new or used. My F350 had been valued in the $25,000 range 6 months before that sell, and mid $35k and up at the time I was ready to downsize to an F150. BUT, new trucks were being priced above sticker as much as $10,000!
I wanted a loaded F150 with most all options and nothing even close available on dealer lots. Dealer ordered trucks were sold before they arrived. New orders were taking 6 months to deliver. Couldn’t do without a truck that long. After tedious negotiations with the dealer, and walking away a couple times, I settled for $2,000 under sticker (not great, but better than what they wanted), a decent offer for trade in, and I could keep and drive my truck until the new one arrived. Could have sold it myself for a little more. But trade in value is deducted from sales price before taxes are calculated. So I saved a significant sum on sales tax that helped offset that difference. Plus not being without a truck for 6 months was worth a lot.

Yes, it was a typo, I meant to say FFs which means fine friends.... this comes from a motorcycle forum. Sorry if I insulted anyone and did not mean to.
Thanks all for the comments and suggestions, I will try a local Bookoo and Craigs List to start with and who knows how to price it other than what I feel Ok with. We will see what happens and maybe next spring try RV trader.
One issue with used stuff is reasonable financing these days for used stuff.

Thanks for the inquiry,
Sold the trailer by itself to a local off CL
Then sold the truck to a guy 75 miles away.

Our neighbor is selling a great truck and camper. The truck is a red I think 2015 Ford DRW 6.7 Diesel with 30,000 miles and a Landmark 365. Both very well maintained in like new condition for probably less then $88,000. The camper is a step above a Montana. He will sell the camper separately but not the truck. This is less than a Montana or a new Ford Diesel truck.
