SoftStartRV
I’ve installed the softstart on our 2021 3781RL rear AC. Reason is well noted here by other owners, but my issue differs in the that our 20A (storage) shore power trips offline when the unit shuts down, not when it’s starting up. All power drawing breakers have been shut off, to include the microwave. So, with all of those off the 20A should more than easily absorb the single unit Startup and shut down.
Our AC is the Coleman Mach.
Has anyone else had this or any similar issues with the install of a softstart device?
Thanks,
Doug

You should call Danny, soft start Engineer who talked me through my installation on 2 units, we have zero issues and 1 unit runs with our 2k predator inverter generator. PM me I'll give you his number.

That doesn't sound right? Did you take any pictures of your install?

Has anyone tried the plug&play SoftStart/up it's the one that plugs into the generator , or 20amp outlet or the pedestal , you just plug your cord into it ?
No wiring to do .

Do you have a link to this intriguing device?

Here is the link https://shop.softstartrv.com/product...pr_seq=uniform
I think I will pass on $899 for a 30 amp surge protector and built in soft start system.

They have a $300 discount at checkout. I would have bought one if I would have known about it. This would be perfect for my MH.

That does look like a nice tidy package and better yet no wiring needed at your A/C units.

One problem (other than current limit of 18 amps and price) is the ease with which this expensive device might "disappear". Sadly, the world we live in...if people will steal your bikes or generator from your campsite, this would be easy pickings.
EDIT: I did see the $300 discount just now, so that makes economic sense since you only need one device for BOTH A/C units to benefit. It is appealing (at least to me) to avoid having to work on the trailer roof installing the hard wired units (yeah, I'm lazy)!
