12 volt air compressor
Hi all,
My portable air compressor finally gave out. Time to purchase a new one. Any recommendations for compressors that will fill our tires to the required 110 psi? I obviously would like to spend a reasonable amount, less than one hundred preferred but please recommend even if it’s remarkably higher. I would like it to be able to run for a while without having to cool down. Please only suggest if you own the unit and are satisfied. I have already done both a google search and Amazon search but I want real reviews

There is a base model of Viair that is under 100 dollars.
It is the 110 PSI that eliminates most inexpensive compressors. They all fail or get really slow the higher the PSI.

I have this one. 160psi. Same battery as my Dewalt drill.
DEWALT 20V MAX* Cordless Tire Inflator, Tool Only (DCC020IB) https://a.co/d/1N4Eg2R
Note: this one ships without a battery. I recommend the 5ah battery.
DEWALT 20V MAX XR Battery, Lithium Ion, 5.0Ah (DCB205) https://a.co/d/8AfGJmz

I had been wanting this for awhile and DW bought me this for my birthday, tried it out for the first time last weekend and it would not inflate my truck tires past 68 psi trying to get to 80.

We carry a 150 PSI Pancake, but we have an On-board generator to supply 120 VAC to run it.

Just because it states it will go to 120psi, check the speed. Don't remember exact numbers but say, at 80 psi in a standard tire it only will raise it 1 psi a minute or something like that . Fine at 30 psi but Sloooow at 80 and worse at 100.

It must be bad. I would take it back.
I've had mine for 3 years. Very happy with it.

I like the idea that it will work on 20v battery, 12 volt and 120v.

This is the one I have. It has the power to also run nailers for fixing trim, pumping up multiple tires and handling any chore you need around home or the RV. Check this out! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746SBGXS?ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_B6JF9QXNTSGAXDNRT1ME

This is the one I have carried in multiple trucks, on my boat and now in my FW. Has aired tires to 80 PSI, topped off my RIB on the boat and will now maintain the TV and FW. https://blackhawkmotorsports.com/pro...RoCOMsQAvD_BwE

Ok good info here. Brings up another question. What tire pressure do you run in your trailer tires. Mine have a max 110 but I run 100 because that's the max I can get out of my air pump.

I recommend you check the sticker on the RV. The weight rating for the tires at 110 psi is listed there. You can also look up the tire info on the web and in many cases find a table that gives the load capacity at varying weights.
My Montana has Sailuns - rated at 4080lbs with 110 psi.
I occasionally run the rear tires of my tow vehicle at 60 or 65 psi when not towing to reduce the bounce of the unloaded bed.
Under inflation, especially in hot weather will kill a tire as the flex in the sidewall builds heat quickly.
You are probably safe at 100 psi, but the cost of a compressor is far less than the cost of a new tire and the collateral damage to fender skirts, brake wiring, hydraulic lines and darko.

Viair here too. You really can't go wrong with them. Whatever you get, make sure it can handle the 110 psi and continuous duty cycle necessary for these large tires.

Yes, that's what I have also.
https://www.amazon.com/VIAIR-45053-A...A%3D%3D&sr=8-1
I have had other models that would barely work for 80psi and not at all for the 110psi of our Montana. The VIAIR 450P-RV is slow on the larger tires, but it always gets the job done. AND, it comes with 2 long air hoses so that you can reach all of the tires. It also includes the trigger inflation gun with the air pressure built in, along with a flexible and rigid wand; really handy while filling. The accessories are likely worth half the price of the kit.
There's a saying that I think applies here; "buy once, cry once"
Brad

I have been using the Bauer 20V for more than a year now with no complaints. It has dual battery slots for added run time. Gets tires to 100psi with out slowing down.

DeWalt
I have a DeWalt 20v air compressor. Works great for all my needs. You screw it on the valve. Set desired pressure and it will automatically fill to that pressure and shut off. Bought on sale at D and B locally in Idaho
