Beach Blanket Bingo...
Ok, so I'm feeling a little "Lethal Weapon or Rockford Files" like and wondering ARE there any places anymore that you could actually camp on a beach? Boondocking with a gen maybe? With all the ocean front development I doubt if there are any places left. Suggestions?

It isn’t Boondocking but there is a beachfront campground at Olympia Ca. I also seem to recall some cliff side beachfront locations that were boondocks (no electric) on the scenic highway south of there as well

15 or 16K of Rv plus truck on a sandy beach may be a problem.

Plenty of state, county and private parks around where you can camp by the Berm. Myrtle Beach for example has several, Northern Neck in VA, Chesapeake Bay area in MD, OuterBanks in NC, to name a couple of examples.

Beach camping
You can camp out and/or drive on the gulf beaches pretty much from south of Corpus Christi to Port Aransas. I am not familiar with the beaches around Galveston. There are multiple beach access roads along the way. A few sections are blocked off and you can’t get thru. You will need a beach pass sticker on your vehicle windshield from the county. You can buy them for maybe $12 or at any grocery store or gas station. I have seen the beaches wall to wall humanity for July 4th - campers, tents, cars and canopies galore. Based on how much sand and salt gets inside my truck when we back up to the surf and pitch a canopy for the day - I wonder how much sand gets into those RVs belonging to the folks that are hearty enough to attempt camping out. I can attest to the fact that the darn sand gets into everything! I would never take any of our past or present nice campers out on the beach. I would want to have a used “junker” I fixed up that was reserved for our beach camping.

Ok this is something I know about. You can’t drive on beaches on Galveston island proper. That is why all the college kids from Houston take the ferry across to Bolivar where I used to live. You can drive on the beach there. However, l’m not sure what the camping rules are for more than day use and like others have suggested, a heavy tow truck and camper is NOT a good idea on a soft sandy beach!!!!
It has also been several years and a couple of major storms since I was there. Bolivar may not be what it once was......
And sand into everything yep that is true for sure!!!! And then there is the salty air being highly corrosive to anything metal!! Be sure to rinse your camper reaaaallllllyyyyy good after you leave the beach area!!!

You can camp and drive on the beach at South Padre Agree with lmtlakejim Do not think I would pull a big RV on the sand. If you do be sure toget the wheel bearings packed as they will get sand in them. Also if you are so inclined you can drive down about 10 miles to the nude beach

We spent 4 weeks on the beach near Port Aransas. No problem as long as you stay on the packed sand.

I think Oregon and California have some beach camping areas, but never tired it. Also Mexico. I would be worried about getting stuck with our size rigs; I know mine is not going out there.
I was in Mexico once and saw a guy get his Jeep stuck on the beach during low tide. We were camped above the high tide level with a pickup & camper. I had a winch and a lot of cable so offered to help him. He refused, telling me that "Jeep wrote the book on four wheel drive". So, we sat in our lawn chairs, put some shrimp on the grill and watched his jeep disappear under water; great show. I believe alcohol was involved.

There are a few county parks on Long Island but difficult to get into its hit or miss. Soft sand have to air down the tires haven't had a problem on the soft sand just have to put air in after getting off the beach. Bit of a pain but well worth the trouble.

There is a gorgeous RV park in Yachts, OR, which is north of Florence. The only issue is that it is pricey! If you make reservations, you can get a spot the is right on the coast. You walk out your door, walk across a small strip of grass and there you are! The sand and done to the water. It is glorious! I have to have my beach fix periodically and this is my go to spot!

Texas Coastal Bend Beaches
Matagorda Beach is great. Don’t know how well a rig as large as a Montana will fare. Great place though.
