Coincidentally, I was asked "what would it take for me and my husband to use your "trailer" for a little weekend getaway?", just last week. I even surprised myself when, a split second after finishing the question, I replied with an emphatic, "I would never even consider it". I think my response kind of surprised her as well because of the look on her face. She dropped that line of questioning immediately. Later on I began to ponder her question and my response and wondered if I might have been too abrupt with her, after all she and her husband are good friends. She even told me that they had been considering buying a travel trailer but had been reluctant about "jumping" into something financially, that they later might regret. I even thought about pulling the 5er out to a nearby campground, setting it up, and letting them enjoy it for the weekend thereby eliminating the possibility of a traffic accident on their part. Then, I thought about it a little more, and even discussed it with DW. When I told her I was "thinking about it", she looked at me like I had a duck on my head. I looked at her and said, "you're right". Even if I did let them use my Montana and they did like it enough to go out and buy a travel trailer, they'd never be satisfied unless they bought a Montana anyway.....so I'm actually doing them a favor. No, I won't let anyone use my Montana or my Truck. My wife doesn't drive it so no one else is gonna drive it either. I would let my adult children stay in it if they visited, but other than that, no. I don't feel bad about it anymore either. That went away after a few hours. I think it says "MOC Enthusiast" or something on my MOC banner, but my wife would call me "Rabid". I love my Montana and my truck, and I've worked very hard to have both. It's not that I don't trust anyone else, it's just that I don't TRUST ANYONE ELSE! (except maybe one of ya'll if it came right down to it)
