That's just it, I don't know or have never seen anybody leave a hose connected to a tank flush. Course I reckon if you're a snowbird staying in a park and have access to a second city water tap you might do so. But even so the tap to the city water supply would be closed and there would be no way it could backflush into the city supply. If you never do that and only connect up when you go to flush the tank why not just eliminate the valve all together? It just seems like this was just a lot of overthinking by some engineer or design person.
