Hydraulic oil leaking from rear jack

I was leveling my 2017 3950BR in manual last night and the drivers side had to be raised more than the opposite side. Camper tire were almost off the ground on the drivers side to get level. In this position, the rear jack had hydraulic oil coming from top area of jack (pretty heavy flow). After I lowered the rear to relieve pressure, leak stopped. What would make it do this?
