Melted Molding

This is a first for me. I had a hot day of traveling in AZ yesterday. The temp was in the high 90s part of the day. When I got to my night camp I noticed the bottom vinyl molding on the front of the rig had melted. There are not any scratches or rubber marks from road junk hitting it. It is deformed and simply melted out of shape.

The only thing I can figure out is the heat from the truck exhaust going through a regen cycle heated up the trim piece and deformed it. This has not happen in the previous 22,000 miles I have towed this rig with the same truck. The truck may have run a little hotter than all the other times and there were some hills involved.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Joe
