Underbelly Sealing Materials

What do you use to seal the underbelly cracks and holes with to keep critters out?
Thinking of using silicone sealer in small cracks and expanding insulation foam in larger holes.
For big areas possibly use sheet metal or other material and screw/glue in area and then seal cracks.
What say you!!!
