2016 MOC Rally Poker Walk
Mornings (except Sunday) at 8:00 AM
The poker walk originated with motorcycle rallies back in the day and were adopted by all types of motorsports clubs (sports cars, Corvette clubs, Jet Ski groups, etc.). At various stops along a route, players would stop, take a break, draw a card and, at the end, the best poker hand was rewarded. The MOC has done this twice before at Spring Rallies and everyone has enjoyed playing. We don’t know if the motivation is the exercise, socializing, or the chance of a monetary windfall. The best part is you don't have to walk to participate.
Each participant can buy a hand (or two or three?). Participants draw a card each day they walk. Either Doug and/or I will record the card on the players score sheet. The cards will be available for drawing for about an hour each morning starting around 8:00 AM. The Poker Walk is scheduled for 5 days (every day except Sunday)
At the end of the rally, on Tuesday night at the While Elephant exchange, we will announce the winner(s) based on the best poker hands. The proceeds will be divided, 1/2 to the winners, and 1/2 to the club to offset our rally costs.
Some go for a morning walk, others don't. It is a nice way to get each day off to a good start with a bit of coffee, and some socializing!
PLUS it is rumored there may be morning appropriate treats!
RULES (there are always stinkin’ rules)
- Each score card (hand) costs $5.
- Players draw one card at a time, and lay it face up on the table.

- Players missing a morning draw may catch up on another day.
- At the end of the game, players may draw up to 2 additional cards to improve their hand.
- Each additional card costs [s]$5[/s] $1
- The Best Hand is based on the best 5 cards.
- In case of a tie, there will be a draw for High Card to determine the winner.
- All decisions of the judges are FINAL!
