replacing glass with mesh wire in TV cabinet
in my 3402RL there is a cabinet above the 40" flat screen for the Bluray player/amp and my satellite receiver. The doors come with glass. There is so much heat inside that I have to leave the doors open when using.
I had already put in 2"x 4" board to raise both devices so the IR remotes would work. now I've replaced the glass with a wire mesh. This will let the heat out. But with the smoked glass gone, I'm going to have to paint the 2" x 4" boards black to make it look better.
Helpful hint. Stapling in the wire from the back works fine, but any vibration will rattle the wire mesh, so I used clear Silicon adhesive to secure the wire from vibrating against the wood.
