OTA vs CATV vs SATV

We just crossed the country and noticed a trend happening concerning campsites offering cable TV. in one campground office behind the desk, I noticed a bank of 40 cable TV receivers with lights flashing. It looked like the control room of a NASA flight center. I asked the owner if he was tracking the space station. He said it was because the cable company insisted that he have a receiver for each campsite. "And it costs me a fortune", he said. Perhaps in the past, cg's would just split the signal off 1 receiver but now they are made to pony up. So... if this is the trend, and most places aren't close enough to a major OTA city, SATV is the answer. We are in NJ for 2 months and had to spring for Dish Network "Pay as you go" or watch nothing. Does anyone else notice this trend happing?
