A Long, Stressful Trip Home
Sept 1, I used the internet to read our hometown newspaper. We were into our third week of a two month trip and were in South Dakota. I noticed in the paper the headline story: "wildfire off Ivan Marx rd in . . .." I nearly had a heart attack. The fire was right on my back door. We had to wait until the next day to find out the horrible news. Our home was totally destroyed along with the barn.
After a five day trip home, we finally viewed 11 years of our lives laying in ashes. On the plus side, we now get to build another home any way we want, and shop 'til we drop replacing the contents. I'll finally get that big screen TV I've wanted.
Another plus: the Monty performed wonderfully and the tow vehicle was great. No problems with either. Not even one hiccup with our Marathon tires. Nor Calif to MN and they still look new.
Maybe this time next year we'll be in our new rebuilt home. Hope so, cuz I'm itchin' to go RVing again.
