We are going to be at that campground the weekend of Sept 22nd. Sorry I can't help you on what things to visit in Door County, never been there. But let us know what places you visited and how they were.

Ozzie the best thing we did was go to the Firday Night Fish Boil on Hwy 57. Lots of fun. The ferry ride to Washington Island was nice too. Bring you truck with you to see all of the Island......The Ice Cream in Egg Harbor is wonderful. I think it was called Jerry's but not sure on that one. You can't go wrong anywhere in Door County. We can't wait to do it again.

Door county is chicago playland ,, if you want to see real wisconsin take the I 43 bridge north to the nort woods and see the real wis and what its all about , not just a tourist trap . we have more lakes and a lot more up this way , if you want to go to the door take the ferry over to monenmie mich for the day or nite cruse .. john we are in crivitz but leave for lake tomahawk in a week and when we get back its pack up to go to goshen as we leave here sept 6 so we have to close the cottage for again 10 months john

Ozzie
Just remember to drink brandy and pray to our god Vince while you are there.

Thank you for the suggestions so far...I've heard about this fish boil from a few people now, and my wife told me of another eatery that has goats on the roof.
The ferry to that island sounds pretty good too - that might be a good weekend thing, and do the touristy things during the week after the weekend traffic has cleared.
Not sure about the Brandy though...I've come to like my Pepper & Spice...and of course you can't beat a good Margarita...

I agree with Sailor on this one. I was in Door county a few years back and was not impressed at all. One Big Tourist trap.
Check out the north woods for real scenery and peace and quiet!
Sailor, you are not too far from me. We are in Three Lakes.
Lake Tomahawk is very close also.

Great place isn't it Ozzie...... We were right across the Bay from you today on our way to the U.P. Highway 41 in Wisc and 35 in Michigan were just as beautiful. Enjoy Door County. I hope the apples are ripe.

Hey adelmoll...
Yes - very nice here. We could have a few more days as we kind of blew through it to see what we could. One of these days we'll have to meet you fellow Minnesotans.
We managed to talk my brother and his wife into making the drive with their 5'er and spend a few days with us. They enjoyed their time here. She is an amateur artist and said she could've spent way more time here than she had. I dunno if she left that door open a crack for a return trip.
Nice thing about being mobile...we aren't decided where to next...

We are right across the Lake from Door County at Traverse City. It is 50 miles by boat. Several hundred by land but it is really a beautiful place. We are on our way to Florida for the winter. it'll take us a couple of months to get there cuz there's lots to do and see on the way but if you get down that a way, be sure to let us know.

Sorry we missed you adelmoll - we saw a few Montana rigs coming in as we were leaving. Had to wonder if it was anyone from the forums here.
We made it back home a short time ago...trailer is in better shape than when we left...
We're in the process of sorting pics, but I managed to get a video of the fish boil boilover.
