Slideout motors need resync
My front slideout montana 3711FL the slideout when moving outwards twists like one motor is moving faster than the other. I was told to re-sync the motors. I cannot find the motor control box. they say to move the slideout fully in and then remove the m1 from the motor controller. Im lost trying to find the controller.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Is this a hydraulic, cable or motor only slide?

Motor only, i found the box, pushed in the slide. then reset the controller that was under the slide in the bay below. I pressed it 6 times, held on the 7th for the lights to flash. My slideout is now stuck in fully. If i try to move the slide outwards one motor goes faster than the other. i pulled all the couches out (l shaped). to make sure nothing was binding. I checked the slots around it nothing it causing it to bind. It is either a faulty controller or ? Thanks for replying.

Do you have rails with teeth underneath?

You have to run in in and then out 3 time to auto sync the motors. Here's a video from Lippert on the process

The key to happiness with the Schwintek system is to not stop when retracting or extending the slide once you start and remain on the switch 3 to 5 seconds after the slide stops. We did this for 2 years full-time and never a problem.

Wow, I didn't know that. I have stopped mine before to double check that everything is clear. Won't do that anymore.
Thanks for the heads up.

Mine is a 2016 3711FL. I think Montana's decision to use Schwintek was wrong from the get-go. That slide has always been problematic, and I've had to have my DW operate the switch while I push or pull one side to keep it even. It sounds like it's struggling and operates much slower than the opposite, shorter slide.
I've had one motor replaced, and it is finally working consistently for me, and I've learned to hold in the switch for five seconds in the full out and in to allow for synchronicity. I've read that a stronger motor is available, but of course, you'd have to buy two, and check with ST to see if you have to upgrade the controller, too.

Same here. I discovered our control box flashing a code and it totally freaked me out. A bit of research said to do exactly what you said and it fixed it.
Our problem also comes from our cat wanting to get curious when we are opening or closing slides which used to cause us to have to pause. She now goes in her carrier every time.

At least your cat didn't decide to hide in the slide L-unit. Finally had to block the small hole to keep them out.

They do like "cozy" spots. Ours also likes to dart out the door when we're in a quiet spot "boondocking". You couldn't throw her out in a campground. It's like everything out there is trying to eat her.

Thank you for replying, i didn't know i could hold the switch for 5 sec to sync. I did that but no luck. I did find out that the reason for the tilt is one of the motors cuts out and that is why. So probably the controller or the motor? The controller i found and there is no error codes flashing.

I know slightly less than squat about the Schwintek system, but my I believe you can easily swap the motors and see if the problem follows the motor. Then you know whether it the motor or the control board is the problem.
