Auto leveling Jacks
When I push Auto leveling the nose drops down and the pump sounds like its strained but it doesn't start auto leveling. I can level it manually. What's going on? Any suggestions?

Are you connected to shore power? On the electric systems it's best to be connected to shore power to maintain adequate voltage. I don't know if that's true for the hydraulics or not.

Before starting auto level, the coach should be a little nose high after unhooking. At least with mine.

You didn’t state if this is a new or older Montana. First I’d replace the stock auto. Reset DC breaker that’s inline from battery to the dual polarity solenoid with and upsized 80 amp breaker per Lipperts installation manual
I’d also verify the battery post and terminals are clean and tight ... if this is a one battery setup you are borderline on available DC amperage capacity.
My unit doesn’t need shore power hooked up to run auto level or slide outs .. all hydraulic. I have two GC2 batteries for “house” DC supply
Take your time and look over your setup and physically put a wrench on the DC supply connections from battery to dual polarity solenoid.
The auto level circuit is very “voltage sensitive” and if DC volts drops below 12 it will most likely error out during auto level

Search this forum for “80 amp breaker” and you will find tons of discussion and pics for how to replace it.
Also - I have a self-I posted rule that I do not try to operate the slides until I am plugged into shore power. My leveling system has always worked fine on batteries but I plug in before opening slides.

I did that about two weeks ago. It's time out after replacing the 40amp with the 80 amp. It is a 2017 and have not had trouble before. I do have two new series 27 batt.

We are always plugged into shore power when we do the auto level and take the slides out..

We discovered at the rally last September, if the ground is too far out of level, auto-level wont work. We had to manually level several rigs.

We are on a concrete pad. Its level as they have pored the concrete.

The easiest way to test your level up system for potential voltage issues is t9 measure the voltage at the dual polarity solenoid .. there is a green and yellow signal wire on each side of the solenoid.
One directs solenoid to make motor run CW, other CCW... have helped run the leveler system and measure with multi meter on each terminal with black meter lead to ground
If the voltage drops below 12 volts while motor is running in either direction the auto level WILL most likely fail
Two photos ..
One indicates two wires to measure DC voltage at solenoid terminal points .. must not drop below 12 volts when hyd pump motor is running
The other pic indicates signal RED wire that plugs into front remote sensor for level up system... remove and reseat this connection. It provides 12 volts constantly to the control module
I’d also reseat the small modular plug that runs from control module to level up panel

I'll try this tomorrow in the day light. The only thing I've changed is the 40anp breaker for a 80amp as described several times on this board. That as I understand it should not have caused any issues.

The nose drops down how far... if it dips to the ground
you did not start the auto level with the nose higher than the rear

Update: Lippert said " when the nose dips down it must be at least-.5° " or it won't start the auto leveling. At this site it is +1°! The nose is at least 6 to 10 inches lower than the rear. And yes I started it at 6 to 10 inches higher than the rear.

In that case you have a problem call lippert they will work with you.
