It can be hard to justify a Diesel engine especially if you aren't pulling your camper a lot of miles or you are willing to go a little slower. A gas engine will pull your camper OK. You might look at a used truck but you will still have the high maintenance cost of a Diesel and if it breaks you are looking at an EXPENSIVE repair. I tell everybody if you don't need a Diesel don't buy one. Only you can decide whether you need a Diesel.
