The extremely simplistic answer,

open the account, and upload the photos you want.

if you have gmail, you have free storage at Picasa, LOTS of it.

I usually downsize my photos before I upload them. But, that is an entire different question and class.

Find a geek to help you, take a beginners class at a local junior college, etc. Call your grandchildren! (Sigh)
