The cable on our 3000RK is plenty long to double. I always have a lock on my hitch release latch to keep anyone messing with it while we are on the road. I run the cable through the lock and double it back to an "I" bolt attached to the 5th wheel hitch. Never had a problem with it catching on anything. Did the same thing with our previous 5th wheel trailer (SOB).
