This seems to be a common problem with the remotes. I love the remote it is the best thing since sliced bread. Perhaps what Lippert need to do is make that action only happen on a two button push. That way it would be less likely to happen accidentally. However I think when we are attempting to turn the control box on we accidentally turn on the lights by hitting that button first. On mine I have to hit the LCI button then the light button to activate the control box, this action does not turn the lights on.

Still would not want to be without the remote and I use it all the time.
