electrical fire under the rear of my 3950br
Has anyone ever experienced an electrical fire under the rear near the spare tire? any recommendations on who can do repairs like this? I am on the long beach penninsula in Washington state.

That would be related to your 50 amp power cord - probably the connections at the power reel. I would bet you need a new cord reel to attach the 50 amp cord again. Pure speculation on my part - I have never worked on the shoreline cord reel, and frankly I don't remember the topic of an electric fire from the cord reel connections ever coming up in the forum since I have been participating in 2018...so I would guess this is a rare occurrence. You are lucky it was not a worse situation, and you would be looking for a new place to live rather than looking for a cord reel fix.
The screen shot below shows the guy removed the J-panel/skirt and took the cord reel out to be replaced by a new cord reel. You can see the connection point.
Edit: this video will give you some insight into what may have happened...

You didn't tell us the year and model of your Montana, but most likely there was a short in the marine connector for the shore power. There is 12V back there for the running lights but a fire is more likely 120V - hence the connector.

So the primary question based on the above replies is; Do you have a power cord reel? Or does your 50 amp cord plug into a connector on the rear of the trailer?

A faulty connection, whether at a cord reel or just bad/loose connections at the shore cord connectors can easily cause an electrical fire. Some years ago, we didn't have a fire, but had enough heat to melt the shore cord plug into the receptacle at the rear of the rig while having good voltage coming in. This would be another location to occasionally check tightness of the electrical connections.

BB-TX asked the right question…I misread his model to be a 3921 like mine.
Here is a pic of the rear of a 3951BR and the power cord plugs in on the rear cap.

I had a bad connection between the 50 amp cord and Rv connection. When I took apart the Rv connection I found burned wire ends and loose connection screws. Had to cut wires and replace connections. Simple job since I had enough electrical cable not burned.
