I used to use the awning rod as my puller outer. It worked well. But now I store the awning rod alongside the awning hardware to keep the roller from rolling off the fabric while on the road. That's a tip I picked up on this forum. So a separate, dedicated puller outer would be nice to have. I'll have to see if I can fabricate something like that.
