Generator
3791 RD. I am planning on purchasing a Champion 3500 inverter generator, dual fuel. I am wondering if it runs a 15k AC, on propane with any issues?
Also its overall performance?

I have an off brand Boliy. It works for the AC fine. It has a peak startup output of I think 3000 and continuous at 2400 watts. My AC will work it's way up to 16 or 17 amps when sitting in the 90 or 95 degree temp in AZ. It starts off at a continuous 13 or 14. But when you first turn them on, they spike about 3 or 4 amps more. So you need a genny that has at least a short term peak of 18-20 and continuous of 17 or so. Multiply amps times volts (120) to get watts, I think.

I have a Champion 3100/3400 inverter/Gen. That's 3100 running watts with Gasoline, when running on propane it's 2800 running watts. Either fuel will run my 13,500 AC, but when running on propane it works harder.

It will, but don't try using anything else at the same time (keep refer on propane too!).

The champion 3500 watt dual fuel WILL run and start your 15k A/C with one exception. You will need your fridge on Propane setting and you should cut off the battery charger using your circuit breaker.
If you do this you should have no problem starting or running your 15K A/C

How many hours will the Champion 3400/3100 dual fuel generator run on a full tank of gasoline, only powering the 15k air conditioner (nothing else on)??

I did this test with my 13,500 A/C 98 Degrees out, one hour used just over a quart of gasoline. Same day I used over 2 gallons of propane for one hour use.

I just noticed that Costco is selling 2000 watt Yamaha generators for 499.99. Appeared to be 2000 start up rating and 1600 continuous. Another interesting thing was that it appeared to come with a parallel cable and both units looked the same. Also came with an RV 30amp plug adapter. Seemed like a good price for a generator.
